We’ve Moved!

The McKinney Economic Development Corporation, McKinney Community Development Corporation, and the McKinney Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce their relocation of offices to District 121 in the Kaizen Office building.

By co-locating all three entities a stronger partnership to help support business, market McKinney as a premier destination and work on community development just grew stronger. The idea was to create an opportunity for synergy between the entities that ultimately results in higher service to the community.

“There is a long history of partnership and collaboration between the economic development agencies and the McKinney Chamber of Commerce,” said Peter Tokar, President and CEO of the McKinney Economic Development Corporation. “The decision to co-locate into the new Kaizen 200K sf Class A office building at District 121 only strengthens the bond between the organizations and provide even more collaborative opportunities that will further enhance the McKinney business ecosystem.”

Located along the 121 Corridor in McKinney, Texas’ prestigious Craig Ranch, District 121 is the city’s first of its kind Class A multi-tenant office building.  The 8 story, 200,000 square foot office building is served by a structured parking garage and a robust tenant amenity package that includes flexible conferencing space, tenant lounge, outdoor amenity space, golf simulator, and a fitness center with private locker and shower rooms.

The location of the development offers desirable walkability to the new restaurant and entertainment district composed of nationally recognized restaurateurs such as Bobs Chophouse, Mi Cocina, 400 Gradi and Common Table scheduled to open early 2023.  Additionally, construction will soon start on the 102-room “Hotel Denzien”, an upscale boutique hotel to service the District and City as well as two additional class A office buildings are planned for the remainder of the development along with additional retail and restaurant opportunities.

“Our team at the MEDC has worked hard to increase and establish the corporate and innovation footprint in McKinney, and this joint effort along with the Chamber of Commerce and the CDC represents the culmination of a lot of work and creativity. That said, we are thrilled about District 121 – not to have a place to settle in and get comfortable, but rather a launch pad for leadership and business, with a collaborative environment and dynamic community leadership. Welcome to the one stop shop to grow, expand, or relocate business in McKinney.”

“A hallmark of the McKinney Community Development Corporation is a commitment to work in partnership with other organizations to promote and fund community, cultural and economic development projects that maintain and enhance quality of life in McKinney,” said Cindy Schneible, President of the McKinney Community Development Corporation. “Since 1996, MCDC has awarded more than $200 million in grants to support quality of life projects in our city, including funding for the development of outdoor entertainment and recreation space at District 121.”

The MEDC/MCDC and Chamber offices are located on the second floor. For businesses looking to move or expand in McKinney, the new office space becomes a one-stop location for support.

“We work closely with MEDC and MCDC to help support their goals,” said Lisa Hermes, McKinney Chamber President & CEO. “Our mission is to lead, connect and empower our stakeholders to advance business and community excellence. By having opportunities for collaboration, we can leverage resources and provide greater service to businesses in McKinney.”
