SYBOR Tech, Inc. Joins Forces with Geo-Vision Air Services, LLC, and ADUSEA, Inc. to Secure Prestigious NIST PSCR Grant and Enhance Public Safety through UAS Innovation

McKinney, TX — SYBOR Tech, Inc., in collaboration with Geo-Vision Air Services, LLC, and ADUSEA, Inc., is thrilled to announce that they have been awarded a highly competitive research and development grant from the NIST Public Safety Communications Research Division (PSCR) under the “First Responder UAS Wireless Data Gatherer Challenge.”

This grant represents a significant milestone for SYBOR Tech and their partners as they continue to push the boundaries of innovation in the public safety and aerospace sectors. Launched in the spring of 2024, the eighth competition in PSCR’s UAS (Uncrewed Aircraft Systems) Prize Challenge series sought innovators with expertise in UAS, artificial intelligence (AI), radio communications, Internet of Things (IoT), and beyond. The challenge’s goal is to enhance situational awareness for public safety agencies in complex outdoor environments with sparse radio communications by leveraging cutting-edge technology.

The competition focused on solving critical public safety challenges, such as:

                •              Periodically gathering data from lightweight, low-powered, disposable sensors deployed ahead of an approaching wildfire in remote areas lacking communications infrastructure.

                •              Locating victims in the immediate aftermath of a building collapse within an “urban canyon environment” by detecting their cellphone signals.

                •              Enabling plant operators and public safety personnel to maintain situational awareness of surviving IoT sensors in an industrial plant following an accident or incident that disrupts normal monitoring capabilities.

Winning this award not only solidifies SYBOR Tech’s position as a leader in IoT interoperability, AI/Analytics, and computer vision but also marks their expansion into the aerospace industry, further diversifying the markets served by Geo-Vision Air Services and ADUSEA.

In addition to this prestigious achievement, SYBOR Tech is also proud to highlight their involvement in the Innovation Fund in McKinney. This local initiative has been instrumental in fostering technological advancements and entrepreneurship in the region, providing crucial support for startups and established companies alike. Their participation in the Innovation Fund has enabled them to accelerate their research and development efforts, ultimately contributing to their success in securing the NIST PSCR grant.

“We are honored to receive this grant and to contribute to the advancement of public safety technology,” said Doug Slattery, Founder of SYBOR Tech. “This grant is a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration, both locally and nationally.”
