Korean Health Technology Company Edenlux Expands to McKinney, Texas Through MEDC Innovation Fund

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced today that Edenlux Corp., a South Korea–based health technology company focused on eye wellness and vision longevity, is expanding its U.S. presence to McKinney, Texas through the MEDC Innovation Fund program.

Edenlux was founded by Sungyong Park, a former military doctor in the South Korean Army whose personal experience with an eye-related injury reshaped his career and sparked a global mission. After suffering visual instability and chronic eye fatigue during his service, Park recognized a critical gap in eye care. While vision challenges linked to prolonged screen use and near work were becoming more common, few tools existed to proactively strengthen the eye’s focusing system.

That experience led to the creation of Edenlux and the development of OTUS, the world’s first AI-powered self vision training device designed to strengthen the eye’s focusing muscles through adaptive near-to-far lens modulation.

OTUS uses artificial intelligence to analyze each user’s accommodative ability and automatically adjust training intensity over time. Unlike virtual reality-based tools, the device features an open-view design, allowing users to train their eyes while engaging in real-world activities such as reading, watching videos, or using a smartphone. The platform also supports an integrated clinic-to-patient ecosystem, enabling clinicians to remotely monitor progress while patients complete guided training at home.

Early clinical observations and case studies have shown improvements in areas such as early presbyopia, convergence insufficiency, and nearwork-induced transient myopia. Many users report improved focusing speed, visual stability, and comfort after one to three months of consistent use.

“Edenlux was born out of my own struggle with vision loss during my military service,” said Sungyong Park, Founder and CEO of Edenlux Corp. “I experienced firsthand how limiting it can be when your eyes can no longer keep up with daily life. OTUS began as a personal solution, but it quickly became clear that millions of people face the same challenges. Our goal is to make eye wellness a daily habit, not something people think about only after problems appear.”

Through the MEDC Innovation Fund program, Edenlux will establish its U.S. operations in McKinney and work alongside local partners, healthcare stakeholders, and innovation organizations as it scales in the American market. The expansion supports Edenlux’s long-term vision of positioning eye care as an essential part of everyday wellness.

“Edenlux represents exactly the type of founder-led, mission-driven company the Innovation Fund was created to support,” said Michael Kowski, President and CEO of the McKinney Economic Development Corporation. “Their technology addresses a growing global challenge while bringing advanced innovation, clinical insight, and global perspective to McKinney. We are excited to support their entry into the U.S. market and their long-term growth in our community.”

Edenlux selected McKinney for its strong innovation ecosystem, access to talent, and collaborative approach to supporting international companies entering the U.S. market.

As Edenlux continues to grow, the company plans to establish McKinney as a launch point for broader adoption of preventive, technology-enabled eye wellness solutions.
