MEDC’s Innovation Fund Starts New Year with a hot platform disrupting the automotive industry.
[McKinney, TX] Autix Automotive, Inc., an Illinois-based startup, and premier online destination for specialty vehicle owners and enthusiasts to create, share, and explore vehicle profiles and maximize the value of their vehicles as an asset is relocating to McKinney. With a grant from the McKinney Economic Development Corporation’s (MEDC) Innovation Fund, the company plans to relocate 1 position and create a minimum of 9 new jobs over the next three years, bringing their total number of employees to 10, with an average salary of $65,000.
AUTIX brings the automotive hobbyist, enthusiast, vendors, and dealers together by offering a one of a kind platform dedicated to highlighting not only a vehicle, but the owner behind the wheel, their unique story, and a curated value metric for their specialty rides.
According to a 2019 SEMA Market report, “the specialty vehicle equipment market is a $45.8 billion industry. Additionally, an estimated 32 million drivers / households will modify their vehicle each year.” AUTIX will allow users to create, share, and explore vehicle profile(s), document and track asset value and engage in a virtual ecosystem of like-minded specialty vehicle enthusiasts.
AUTIX is currently in the midst of their initial $2.5 million seed-round fundraising campaign. They are currently on a hot streak of exposure having taken first place at the CodeLaunch DFW Startup Pitch Competition on November 17th out of 150+ companies. Additionally, AUTIX has been selected as a Top 100 Finalist out of over 750+ applicants for the Startup of the Year Summit taking place in Tampa, Florida at the end of January.
AUTIX’s new headquarters will initially be located at Common Desk McKinney Square, 300 E. Davis McKinney, TX 75069. AUTIX is one of the many tech companies that have recently announced their expansion or relocation into McKinney via the Innovation Fund. Other tech firms like Robin AI and Review Wave have also recently moved to McKinney.
MEDC’s Innovation Fund was created with startups like AUTIX in mind. The mission is to spur and accelerate the growth of innovation-focused companies at various levels of revenue and funding stages during the startup life cycle. It is designed to grow with the company as it scales, supplementing growth during the timeliest need in the startup lifecycle, seed or few customers, to Series A and or a more extensive customer base.
